About Our Disinfectant Services

In the age of COVID-19, we are all trying extra hard to keep the areas around us free of germs. Not just in our homes, but in our cars.

The problem?

Well, as you may have guessed, you can’t exactly use just any old cleaner on your car’s interior. If you aren’t careful, you will end up with stains, streaks, color loss on your leather, etc…. That’s why it’s best to trust the professionals like us at Pure Detail Co. to handle the disinfecting process in your car.

Your car is a major hotspot for viruses and bacteria. Especially these six spots.

And that is why we have put in the research and testing to determine what’s best for any type of car interior.

Here are the steps that we take to ensure your car’s interior is disinfected once we have completed the cleaning.
  1. We start with an ozone treatment to purify the air and get rid of odors as well as bacteria, viruses, organic and inorganic compounds.
  2. We will then begin the cleaning process. This consists of hitting every surface to clean off the dirt, grime, and other things that lie on the top layer of your car’s interior. At this time we will also focus on things like shampooing and steaming cleaning to rid your car of any nasty stains. And it is important to note the differences between cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing. Here are the definitions of each, per the CDC.
    1. Cleaning removes germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces or objects. Cleaning works by using soap (or detergent) and water to physically remove germs from surfaces. This process does not necessarily kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.
    2. Disinfecting kills germs on surfaces or objects. Disinfecting works by using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces or objects. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection.
    3. Sanitizing lowers the number of germs on surfaces or objects to a safe level, as judged by public health standards or requirements. This process works by either cleaning or disinfecting surfaces or objects to lower the risk of spreading infection.
  3. Next, we will begin the process to disinfect your car. There isn’t just one way that we tackle this. There also isn’t just one chemical. The processes and chemicals used are determined based on the type of material within your car. For example, there are things that you can use on vinyl that can’t be used on leather, and so on. So this step is tailored specifically to your car’s needs.
  4. At this point, we will do a final inspection to ensure that nothing is left untouched. Your keys/fob will be disinfected and either returned to you or the car. Whichever you prefer.
  5. If you want to avoid all contact, we will then email you your invoice so that you can pay through our online payment system.

And that’s it! Your car is now squeaky clean and free of all those nasty germs.
